An introduction to Payroll for Business Central (and how it works)

  • Central data management – Payroll Role Centre is a central management hub that offers a holistic view of all relevant Payroll data, with actions a cue tiles to encourage productivity. 
  • Compliant data recordings – all data will be recorded against each employee with GDPR classifications, including history of all additions, reductions and payments. 
  • PAYE – advanced functionality to record Scottish, Welsh and the rest of the UK tax bands and calculating tax contributions.  
  • Statutory payment – from sick pay to parental leave, the solution can add and calculate all employee statutory payments.  
  • Real time compliance – the system allows users to submit information to HMRC RTI, download HMRC notifications and automatically apply them to the current process.

How to get started with Payroll for Business Central  

If you’re already registered employer with HMRC and Business Central is part of your tech stack, you’ll just need to download the payroll app, which is available in the Microsoft AppSource App store. By identifying where productivity could be improved across the payroll process, you can then set up automations in the app and start to streamline your workstreams.  

Please note, if you’re making the decision to bring payroll management in-house, you need to register as an employer with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and get a login for PAYE Online.
